Xbox Live

On November 15, 2002, Microsoft launched it's Xbox Live Service, allowing people to play Online with other players. In its first week of operation, Xbox Live recieved 100,000 subscriptions and further grew to 250,000 subscribers within two months of the service's launch. And by May 2009, the number had grew to 20 million current subscribers. It was originally $50/yr and required a broadband connection.




On April 14, 2010, Xbox Live for the Original Xbox was shut down by Microsoft. Playing Online is still possible due to services such as Insignia, you can click on the image on the left to see the website.
